Jordan Spieth back up to No. 3, Beau Hossler jumps to No. 33 in latest Ryder Cup USA standings

Beau Hossler made a strong charge but fell short in the Houston Open playoff to Ian Poulter. However, the rookie Hossler did pick up a lot of Ryder Cup points for his efforts, moving up from No. 82 to No. 33 in this week's Ryder Cup USA points standings.

Jordan Spieth also picked up a big chunk of points for his third-place performance, moving him up three spots to No. 3. Rickie Fowler didn't finish off the weekend well in Houston, but he did pick up enough points to move back into the Top 10.

Justin Thomas and Dustin Johnson remained in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, respectively.

U.S. players will continue to gain points in 2018 at every non-opposite PGA Tour event, WGC and major through the 100th PGA Championship at Bellerive, concluding on August 12, 2018.

At that time, Captain Jim Furyk will have his first eight players -- automatic qualifiers.

The four remaining slots on the U.S. Team will be Captain's Selections. Three selections will be announced by Captain Jim Furyk following the Dell Technologies Championship scheduled to be completed on Sept. 3, 2018, and the final selection will be announced after the BMW Championship, which is slated to be completed on Sept. 9, 2018.

Here's how players will earn points in 2018.
