Ryder Cup USA's wardrobes have come a long way over the years with looks including checkered pants, berets, pants tucked into socks, visors and vests. Lots of vests.
In advance of the 2018 Ryder Cup at Le Golf National in Paris, France, take a look at the USA's uniforms over the years, starting with the most recent Ryder Cup in 2016.

2016 Ryder Cup
After finishing fourth in the Ryder Cup USA points standings, Patrick Reed helped lead the U.S. to a Ryder Cup victory at Hazeltine (notice the champagne spray that consumed the left half of Reed's body. Two years later, he won the Masters.
See, even professional players get hat head just like we do.

2014 Ryder Cup
While comfortable, beanies have the downside of lacking a brim like a traditional hat, making the sun feel like a complete nuisance at times. However, that didn't stop Jordan Spieth from making the Ryder Cup USA team at just 21 years old in 2014.
2010 Ryder Cup
Surprisingly, stripes haven't been a common look in Ryder Cup USA's team uniforms. 2010, however, was an exception, as Phil Mickelson's sweatsuit proves above.
2008 Ryder Cup
We challenge you to find a golf photo with more argyle than this one.
2006 Ryder Cup
The USA Team's caddie wearing the star-spangled vest is the star of this photo, no?
2002 Ryder Cup
The 2002 season was arguably Tiger Woods' third-best season ever as a pro, with five wins – including two majors – and nine top-three finishes in 18 starts. He definitely had a reason to be smiling.
1999 Ryder Cup
There's so much to love with Payne Stewart's attire at the 1999 Ryder Cup – most notably, the pants tucked into the mid-calf socks and the beret.
If you look closely at this picture of Duval, you'll notice there's pictures of past Ryder Cup USA teams on his shirt.
1997 Ryder Cup
It's hard to tell who looks younger – Tiger Woods or Phil Mickelson?
1995 Ryder Cup
Visors and crew neck sweaters? That look screams 1995.
1991 Ryder Cup
Everyone in the back row is looking in a different direction but that shouldn't take away from Ryder Cup USA's victory in the 1991 Ryder Cup.
How about that mustache/mullet combo from Corey Pavin!
1985 Ryder Cup
Tom Kite rocks a simple but patriotic look at the 26th Ryder Cup. Side note: Former NBA MVP/fashion guru Russell Westbrook would be jealous of Kite's sunglasses.
1981 Ryder Cup
It's hard to get more patriotic than wearing red, white and blue layers at the Ryder Cup. By the way, anyone know where to buy that blue zip-up jacket? Asking for a friend.
1979 Ryder Cup
How about this fun fact: Hale Irwin won the U.S. Open in 1979 – the same year this photo was taken – with a score of even par. He won it three times in his career with final scores of 7-over, even, and 8-under for a spread of 15 strokes across his three U.S. Open championships.
1973 Ryder Cup
The USA won the 1973 Ryder Cup, but you could've guessed that just based upon one look at Lee Trevino and Chi Chi Rodriguez.
